Hong Kong Swimming Pools

If you’re a swimmer or if you want to be a swimmer, Hong Kong has plenty of options for you. Some of these options include private pools, public pools, and sports centres. There are also other places where you can swim, such as the beaches and the ponds at Victoria Park. These places can be great for families, as they have facilities such as playgrounds, snack bars, and picnic tables.

Public swimming pools in Hong Kong are run by the government and offer three sessions a day. They usually have one or more 50m pools and a shallow pool for children. The cost for adults is $19, and for kids, it’s $6. Lockers are available and you can either insert a HK$5 coin (refundable) to get a key or use your own padlock. The facilities at these pools are generally clean, but the changing rooms can be very cramped and crowded, especially during peak times.

It’s best to book ahead if you can. Private pools are much more spacious and have more amenities, such as jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms. You can also rent lounge chairs and towels. There are also some that have an outdoor terrace with a view of the mountains and the sea. Some of these pools are even heated. Some have water slides and other activities for the kids, while others have a restaurant and coffee shop.

The city’s newest pool is the Water World in Tsim Sha Tsui. It opened in June and is the largest indoor/outdoor waterpark in Asia. It has slides, a lazy river, and an artificial wave pool, plus a café and restaurant. It’s the perfect place to take the family or friends on a hot day!

Another new pool is the Kennedy Town Swimming Complex, which opened in May. It is a beautiful modern pool that has a unique shape inspired by a shell and offers amazing views of Victoria Harbour. This pool is a great option for families, as it has a leisure area with fountains and water slides for kids of all ages.

There are also some hotels that have gorgeous pools with a view of the city skyline. The Island Shangri-La Hong Kong is a great example. The Hotel Indigo’s rooftop pool is also breathtaking. You’ll feel like you’re in a Wes Anderson film when you’re swimming here!

With just two days left in the pool phase, all of the remaining games have an impact on the playoff picture. This makes for an exciting finish to the round-robin stage, especially with a tussle between three teams for the final spot at Shek Kip Mei Sports Centre. This is definitely a game to watch!
