The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize

The hongkong prize is an annual competition that honors students for their academic accomplishments and extracurricular activities, giving them recognition they so desperately deserve. Winners are awarded at an awards ceremony with cash prizes, as well as access to Hong Kong research facilities.

In the past, the hongkong prize has been awarded to scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of science and technology. Previous winners have included chemist Gregory Winter and microbiologist Michael Levitt. The prize also recognizes young researchers for their efforts to ignite people’s passion for science, encouraging them to continue their research and work hard.

If you are a scholar or researcher in Hong Kong and want to be part of the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize, apply now!

The prize is a unique opportunity for scholars, researchers and institutions in Hong Kong to present their innovative ideas to the world. The winning team will be given a monetary award and have the chance to showcase their research at the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS). This is a great way to build connections with fellow researchers and industry partners.

You can enter the hongkong prize by submitting your project and answering a few questions. You’ll need to provide your contact information, your background and the subject of your study. The panel of judges will choose the best entries, and the winner will be announced in October.

HK$100 million is a lot of money, but it won’t go to just anyone. The finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their idea and present their research to a panel of judges at a conference in Hong Kong. If they are chosen, they will be rewarded with a HK$100 million grant for their business and could possibly become the next big thing in tech.

This year’s hongkong prize has received record number of applications from researchers across all fields at HKUST. Research projects in artificial intelligence, life and health, new materials and energy, advanced manufacturing and FinTech are particularly strong. This shows the importance of the prize in encouraging academic researchers to persist in innovative exploration, establish their careers here, serve our nation and contribute to the world.

The hongkong prize was first established in 1996 by the friends and students of Professor Wang Gungwu for the purpose of honoring his passion for Hong Kong history and belief that a university education should include a comprehensive knowledge of local history. The prize is supported by a HK$100,000 donation from the University, which has been matched by the Government in the Sixth Round of the Government Matching Scheme. In addition, the balance of a HK$100,000 donation made by Prof. Wang Gungwu in 1992, which was used to support his students, has been re-designated to this prize fund.
